A major player in Italian sparkling wine, Prosecco is made from Glera grapes widely used in the Treviso area.
Following the enormous and uncontrolled expansion of recent years, since 2009 the new resolution that defines the production of Prosecco DOC in the provinces Trieste, Gorizia, Udine, Pordenone, Treviso, Belluno, Vicenza and Venice has come into force, with the right purpose to safeguard an enological heritage appreciated all over the world.
